Then this is the right course for you!
The ,,Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence University, in partnership with SNSPA Romania (Center for the Promotion of Participation and Democracy), NTNU (Norway Technological University) and University of Malta is recruiting BA or MA students to participate in a one week intensive, online course aimed to enhance key competences and skills in big data understanding, organisation and analysis. This introductory course has been designed at the crossroads of security and social studies, on the one hand, and data science on the other. Hence, it aims to prepare young scholars in social and security studies learn new concepts and understand how to apply technological tools in processing and analyzing complex data.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be enrolled in a BA or MA program with one of the following universities: MVNIA, SNSPA or UoM. They must be students in security and intelligence studies, political science, or applied and academic social science.
Recruitment criteria
Selection of participants will be realized based on education, profile relevance, motivation to attend and potential for replication of good practices at institutional level.
In order to prove the relevance of your application, the letter of intent must cover the following:
– title, name, surname, full address, date of birth, nationality
– your interest in big data analysis and relevance for your current / future job
– record of related competences – social studies, data science
– proven competence in the field of security and/or intelligence studies/ political science/ governance and public administration/ sociology etc.;
– availability to test the course in the online platform and to replicate good practices at institutional level as the project requires
– availability for preliminary study of a series of documents provided by course organizers that familiarize the students with basic concepts in statistics and Excel use, optimization of online searches, critical thinking fundamentals, legal science fundamentals.

The course will be held in two successive iterations:

– January 24 – 28, 2022
While we will try to meet your preference in enrolling for the first or second iteration, we cannot guarantee we can meet all requests for specific allocation.
Please note that training can only be attended via a laptop / computer (not phone)
Good connection to internet is required to download data bases and operate on multiple windows.
